Helping Our Community Make Informed Decisions

Results of Survey Conducted with ASD Employees

Overall, only 1 in 7 teachers favor a split*

It is clear that teachers, administrators and staff do not want the district to be split at this time in this manner.

The results across the district consistently show that only a small portion of teachers favor a split.

  • District average: 14% want to split
  • Highest cluster: 22% want to split
  • Lowest cluster: 7% want to split

Our Approach

The survey was structured to

  • Invite teachers, administrators, and staff at all levels to participate
  • Invite educators from all areas of the district to participate
  • Ask what matters most to our teachers
  • Learn if attititudes vary in different areas
  • Use neutral questions - not leading towards any given outcome

The survey was conducted as follows:

  • Email addresses (over 6000) for ASD teachers and staff were collected from school and district website pages.
  • Between Sep 22 and Oct 10, an invitation to take the survey was emailed to each address.
  • The invitation made clear that this was being conducted by Stronger Together.
  • Respondents were self-selected
  • We believe that those for and those against a split were equally motivated to take the survey

Survey participation was very high

  • Over 6000 emails were gathered from district websites
  • Emails were sent to each address
  • Some people reported that they did did not receive the invitation but we have no way of knowing how many emails may not have been delivered.
  • There were 1886 total responses.
  • There was a very high response rate - 30.4%  (assumes all emails were delivered.)
